My company’s holiday party

Sunday, December 28th, 2003

Since Stuart and I were going straight from the office to a bar to the party, we decided to just wear our suits to work. We managed to convince a couple of our neighbors to do the same. We all met for a toast in the afternoon.

Cindy’s birthday at Sophia’s

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003

Karen’s celebration broke up around midnight, but I still had some energy, a good buzz on, and a vacation day coming to me. I headed over to Sophia’s. Sophia’s on Wednesday is one of the best salsa nights in Boston. Also, Cindy, who I met through common friends, was celebrating her birthday.

Karen’s goodbye celebration

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003

Karen is leaving the company to take on a new adventure. Will an engineering degree from MIT help her open her own bakery? Only time will tell. To celebrate, some of her friends met at Clery’s to wish her well.

Yes, Stuart did eventually get his glasses back. But not before we […]

Post-SnowBall

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003

Stuart and I crashed the SnowBall last week. It was cofounded by one of my coworkers, so we bumped into lots of people we knew. I even talked with someone I graduated high school with and hadn’t seen for 10 years. A bunch of us ended up back at Stuart’s place. […]

Vinal Avenue Holiday Party

Sunday, December 21st, 2003

Nick’s eagerly-anticipated and long-standing tradition has roots in our college days. The whole night, however, nobody pointed out that I was wore the same tie as last year.

Dali, Kirkland Cafe, and The Thirsty Scholar

Sunday, December 21st, 2003

I had my first dinner at Dali. It lives up to the hype. Then we went to see Steve’s band play at the Kirkland Cafe. We topped off the night at The Thirsty Scholar.

A Holiday dinner at Holly’s

Sunday, December 21st, 2003

Holly threw us all a holiday dinner. The food was incredible. Have you ever had meatballs with peanut sauce before? How about shrimp with a spicy cranberry sauce. Me neither.

Red, Hot, and Sassy!

Sunday, December 21st, 2003

Stuart and I made the journey to Jennifer, Suki, and Lisa’s house outside of Davis Square in the middle of a blizzard. Their “Red, Hot, and Sassy!” party was worth the trip. Only the heartiest of souls made it out, leading to a record cool-to-uncool ratio.

Here are some pictures from Stuart’s camera-phone:

Snow = Laundry

Sunday, December 7th, 2003

Look at all that snow:

It’s a good time to do some laundry:
